Advanced Cognitive Models for Human-Machine and Human-Robot Interaction

Description:

Recent cognitive user interfaces support a near-to-natural human-machine-interaction in different modalities, and they partly achieve a remarkable performance. State-of-the-art solutions pose challenges like e.g. their dependency on huge training data, sensible user information and public network infrastructure. In general, cognitive user interfaces require a bidirectional translation between lower-level input signals and representations of meaning, including the ability to deal with uncertain knowledge. The focus is on current investigations, developments and on the link between theory and practice as well as on new ideas and approaches. We hope that new impulses for further research arise and we look forward to open scientific discussions on interdisciplinary themes. In this special session, we call for research papers in the field of cognitive modeling. The topics include (but are not limited to): semantic information processing, knowlegde representation, HMI/HRI concepts, adaptive dialog systems, agent modeling and algorithms inspired from quantum theory.
