Istanbul is one of the most popular tourist destinations of the world, and August is quite within the tourism season, with 23-24 degrees Celsius averages and nice weather overall. If you are planning to stay more than a couple of days in Istanbul it would be recommended to buy an Istanbul card to use the integrated public transportation system, which can be used in public buses, subway (Metro), tramway and the ferries.
